Bastati

The Bastati are a desert people from the Burning Lands of Osirion, forged by the Ruby Kingdom’s patron gods. They are seen as graceful and mystical, but also short-tempered and with an even shorter attention span. Tribes of Bastati can be disparate, resembling different creatures entirely depending on the whims of the gods that had created them. They roam the deserts nomadically, their traditions of desert discipline alien to many outsiders. Many leave their desert tribes seeking adventure or acting as emissaries, though some leave for no other reason than to profit themselves.

Physical Description

Bastati are a race specifically forged by the gods of Osirion. Each tribes often resembles a humanoid version of the god that forged them; the most common tribes to see descend from Khemet, the Ruby Prince, and Ioun, with the appearance of the Bastati tribes in question appearing to be humanoid jackals and felines, respectively. Basti eyes are usually dark, but occasionally shine blue. Basti fur is almost always shades of brown to blend in with the desert sand they call home, but black is not unheard of. Bastati heighs range from anywhere between 4 and 6 feet tall, with males significantly larger and more muscular than the females.

Relations

Bastati are generally cordial with other tribes, and try to be amicable with non-Bastati. However, they are seen as nothing short of an exotic treasure outside Osirion.

Lands

Bastati generally dwell in the southern and western deserts of Osirion, but they are not uncommong throughout the rest of the Shamar River Valley. However, they generally congregate amongst themselves when not in their desert settlements.
